Suzani is a hand-embroidered cotton garment originating from the Nomadic tribes of Uzbek and other Central Asia. Its name was taken from the Persian word Suzan, meaning a needle.
Suzanis are thought to have been used as prayer mats, bedsheets, and protective wrapping panels for items within yurts in the 15th century (nomadic tents used in Central Asia).

Silk Road Tea House is a family-owned restaurant in the heart of Bukhara, a spot not to be missed if you need to learn more about the spices traded on the Silk Road Tours.
While the venue opened in 2004, the enterprise owner and ancestors had been selling spices and producing tea for over 600 years. Herbs would be carried from Iran, Saudi Arabia, and India through the Silk Road and then infused into their tea.
